Wrapped

How it works

How Wrapped puts your Monday together.

Every wrap is the output of a six-stage pipeline that runs while you sleep on Sunday night. Here's what happens between your last Sunday scroll and your Monday morning push.Every wrap is the output of a six-stage pipeline that runs while you sleep on Sunday night.

Listening to discourse

Wrapped's ingest pulls from a vetted source pool, Twitter / X, LinkedIn, Substack, podcast transcripts, niche subreddits. No paywalled journalism. The signal is what people are saying, not what's being reported.Wrapped's ingest pulls from a vetted source pool, Twitter / X, LinkedIn, Substack, podcasts.

Spotting the threads

Related conversations are clustered. A Stripe infra thread, a podcast tangent, two Substack pieces, and a LinkedIn pile-on may all be one cluster. Wrapped names the cluster after its theme.Related conversations are clustered into theme candidates.

Picking the signal

Clusters are scored by relevance to your niches, significance, freshness, and diversity across themes. Hard constraints: no duplicates, ≥3 theme categories when you've picked 10+ cards, ≤20% from any single platform.Ranked by relevance, significance, freshness, with hard diversity constraints.

Sequencing the narrative

Cards are ordered into a story, theme intro, development, forward look. A deck of 12 isn't 12 random cards; it's 12 cards arranged like a magazine.Cards are ordered into a story arc, not a list.

Writing the cards

Each card's three blocks ("What happened", "Why it matters for you", "What to watch next") are written in the Wrapped voice. The "Why it matters for you" block is personalized, it knows your role, your niches, your other reads.Three-block format. Personalized to your role and niches.

Quality pass

Every card goes through a policy, factuality, deduplication, and tone check. If anything fails, it's swapped for the next-best card from the rank.Policy, factuality, dedup, tone check. Failures are swapped.

For the curious

The ranking formula, in plain math.

final_score =
0.45 × relevance (does this match your niches & role?)
  + 0.35 × significance (is this a meaningful conversation, not a one-day spike?)
+ 0.15 × freshness (did it happen this week?)
  + 0.05 × diversity_bonus (does this card broaden the deck's theme set?)

No duplicates.

Two cards in one deck can't be the same event.

≥3 theme categories

At 10+ cards.

≤20% per platform

So the deck doesn't lean entirely on X or LinkedIn.

The voice

Calm. Confident. Concise. Conversational.

Wrapped's voice contract is the same on every card, every week, every niche. We call it soothing intelligence. It's never hype. It's never doom. It reads like a smart colleague catching you up over coffee, not a feed shouting for your attention.

What Wrapped sounds like

A senior engineering manager on Twitter argued that platform teams should absorb SRE. The thread got 400+ replies from leaders in Series-B-and-up orgs.

What Wrapped never sounds like

BREAKING: Stripe engineer DESTROYS the platform-vs-SRE debate. You won't believe the responses.

Our promises

Wrapped never:

  • Pushes you more than twice a week. Ever. The Monday wrap is one. Anything else is at most one more.
  • Hides why a card was included. Every card has a "Why it matters for you" block. The reason is the product.
  • Silently changes your preferences. If feedback suggests you'd like a smaller load, we ask you. We never reduce your load on our own.
  • Mixes low-signal content in. A weak week means a shorter wrap, not a padded one.
  • Republishes journalism. Wrapped quotes discourse. The original reporting lives at the source.
